The Nigeria National League has called for a more excellent officiating in the 2024-25 season.
Chairman of the NNL, George Aluo, stated this after the successful outcome of the opening fixture of the campaign in Abakaliki.
It was reported that the NNL opening fixture involving Abakaliki FC and Madiba FC was officiated by Osas Alohan from Edo State.
Aluo said the officials were near perfect in their handling of the encounter.
“I must commend the referees for good officiating. They were fair and bold. Osas Alohan, the centre referee from Edo State, and his two assistants, Festus German and Favour Bogwu, all from Delta State, did their best in interpreting the rules,” Aluo stated to NNL media.
“I’m delighted that we have started on a good note, and I want to see that kind of performance from all the referees as the season gathers momentum from this weekend.
“We want a situation where any club that deserves a win or draw on the road will get it.”
